Drivers License Exchange
Any individual with a driving license of a foreign country may exchange that license for a Portuguese driving license.
You can drive in Portugal, as a tourist, with a driving licence issued by a country with which Portugal has a bilateral agreement for the recognition and exchange of driving licences, or that are signatories to one of the international traffic conventions, for a period of 185 days following your entry into Portugal and providing you are not intending to settle.
If you take up residence in Portugal, you must take into account the following deadlines, which are effective from the date on which your residence document is issued:
You can continue to drive on a licence issued by a country mentioned above for up to 90 days from the date of issue of your residence document, but you must apply for an exchange during this period.
From 90 days up to 2 years: You can no longer drive on a licence issued by a country mentioned above, but you can still apply for an exchange during this period.
After 2 years: You can apply for the exchange of your licence but you will have to pass a practical driving test.

Citizenship
You can apply for the Portuguese citizenship in any of these cases:
If you were born in Portugal
If you have Portuguese parents or grandparents
If you descend from Portuguese Sephardic Jews
If you are married to a Portuguese citizen
If have been legally residing in Portugal for at least 5 years.
Residency
For EU citizen
If you are a citizen from any European Union Member State you have the right to become a resident in Portugal. If you want to become a resident let us know and we will assist you
EU citizens are entitled to live in Portugal for a period of up to 3 months without any conditions or formalities other than holding a valid identity card or passport.
For third country citizen
If you are a citizen from a third country (non-EU Member State) and you want to get your residency in Portugal feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you
Register at the Tax Authority – ‘NIF’ number
This is the Portuguese fiscal number for each person resident or non-resident in Portugal. So if you are in Portugal and haven´t got a NIF number let us know and we will be happy to help you
Non-habitual residency (NHR)
This is a special fiscal regime released by Portugal for non-habitual residents (little or no tax for 10 years on most foreign-source income, applicable to pension income, dividends, interests, royalties and real estate income foreigned sourced). Register at the National Health System (SNS) – ‘Utente’ number
This is the Portuguese health insurance number for each person that is resident in Portugal. If you haven´t got an UTENTE number let us know and we will be happy to help you.

Visa & Residence permit
Visa
There are different types of visas to enter and stay in Portugal. These visas can be:
Schengen visa
provides for short stays of up to 90 (ninety) days per period of 180 (one hundred eighty) days. It is essentially for tourism, family visits, business and similar purposes
National visas
Long-stay visas, in compliance with existing Portuguese law, can be either temporary or for residency authorization purposes, depending on the duration of the stay and granting the visa holder an authorization to stay in the country according to different purposes: study, internship, work, medical treatment, among others.
Temporary stay visas
Allow entry and stay in Portugal for less than a year. Temporary stay visas are valid during the entire stay and allow for multiple
Residency visas
Allow two entries and is valid for a period of 4 months. During that time, the holder of a residency visa is required to request a residency permit with the Immigration and Border Services (SEF). Types of residency visas

D7 Visa - Residency visa for retirement purposes or for people living on their own income
